Well, I can hardly believe it, but it is December – the end of 2018. This year has absolutely flown by! Today I am sharing my favorite products from November and October. Since I was in Palm Desert for 2 weeks in October, I didn’t try out a lot of new things during that month, so I thought I’d combine October and November together. I’ve talked about a lot of these items in posts on IG and such, but here’s everything in one place. Let’s take a look!
Sephora – Lashcraft Big Volume Mascara – $14
I received this sample size mascara in one of my SephoraPlay boxes and I have been loving it ever since! This is definitely my most used mascara over October and November. It goes on so easily and makes your lashes both lengthened and volumized. I will be purchasing a full size of this for sure!
Essie Nail Polish – Wild Nude and Winning Streak – $9
I loved the Wild Nude shade in October especially because it was a great way to transition from Spring colors to Fall tones. It is a very muted slightly pink taupe shade. Winning streak was the perfect darker tone for Fall and heading into Winter. It’s cool toned charcoal gray is a fun alternative to doing a dark red.
Bobbi Brown – Vitamin Enriched Face Base – $60
I wrote about this in my Best Heavy-Duty Moisturizers post. It is a highly moisturizing primer that I’ve used countless times in the am. before doing my makeup as the air gets drier and drier. A savior for the Fall/Winter months!
Flower Beauty – Miracle Glow Satin Finishing Powder – $13
I have been loving this powder lately. It has a soft pinky color with tiny pearl pigments so it gives your skin a nice subtle radiant glow. I’d say it is a loose powder version of some of the super expensive Hourglass ambient lighting pressed powders. Not a fan of the bulky, clumsy packaging, but the product inside is awesome!
Zara – Red Vanilla Perfume – $17.90
I bought this perfume last December and have been waiting until it was Fall/Winter again so I could resume using it! I am a huge fan of vanilla scents so this is right up my alley. They describe it as having cassis, iris and vanilla. A warm, elegant and long-lasting fragrance. I’d fully agree, and for the price, it’s outstanding!!!
Bliss – Body Butter in Lemon and Sage – $12
This is one of my favorite body moisturizer formulas. They aren’t heavy or greasy feeling, but they are highly moisturizing and have nice light scents. I cannot get enough of these – seriously use every single day. My only gripe is that their scents are all a bit more Spring/Summer-ish and they discontinued their Vanilla Bergamot scent which was literally my favorite lotion of all time and perfect for Fall/Winter!
AOA – Wonder Blender – $1.55
In my opinion, this is the closest beauty sponge to the Beauty Blender that you can find, and for the best value hands down! You have to get this specific one, as AOA has other sponges on their site that aren’t as good, but this one is nearly identical in size, shape, and texture to the Beauty Blender.
Bath and Body Works – 3 Wick Candle in Black Cherry Merlot – $24.50
I got this candle way back in early Fall and have repurchased it for Winter. It is the perfect scent for both seasons that isn’t too aggressively stereotypical like “Apple Orchard” or “Pine Tree”. It’s just a nice dark scent of Dark Cherry, Black Raspberry, Sumptuous Merlot that is the perfect elegant and classy Fall/Winter scent. Just make sure you wait for a sale – don’t every buy these at full price because there’s always a deal around the corner.
Tazo Hot Teas – $3.29/20bags
When the weather starts getting cold, I immediately reach for tea to warm me up. Tazo makes some of my favorite flavors – I’d been drinking the Wild Sweet Orange, Organic Bramblewine, and Passion. In linking to their site, I see they have a ton of flavors that I wasn’t aware of, so now I want to go check out some of those as they are more in line with Fall/Winter flavors. YUM!
Sephora – Dry Clean Instant Dry Brush Cleaner Spray – $14
I had heard others talking about how amazing this product is but just finally got my hands on it this November. They weren’t kidding! You spray this on your makeup brushes, wipe them off on a paper towel and voila! Clean brush that is dry and ready to use! Smells really good too.
Neutrogena – Deep Moisture Night Cream – $12.99
So believe it or not, I actually forgot to pack a face cream when I left for Palm Desert for 2 weeks back in October. The horror, lol! I had to pick up something at Walmart once we got there which was a little stressful as I am not very familiar with drugstore skincare. I pretty much exclusively use high-end skincare so I wasn’t really sure what to go with. I ended up with this one from Neutrogena and highly enjoyed it throughout the trip and have continued to use here at home. Even though it is labeled as a deep moisture cream, it has more of a gel-like watercream type texture, similar to Tacha Water Cream or Peter Thomas Roth Cloud Cream. It is light on the skin but is very moisturizing. A great drugstore alternative!
Bad Habit – 8 piece Eye Brush Collection – $24
I reviewed this brush set along with their Luna Eyeshadow Palette in this video – check it out. I haven’t stopped using them since! They are synthetic, cruelty-free brushes and cover just about every size/shape you’d need to do an eye look. The value price is great for the set, and you can purchase them individually as well. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a nice set of brushes that won’t break the bank!
Anastasia Beverly Hills – Sultry Eyeshadow Palette – $45
I did two looks and a first impression review of this palette in this video – check it out. This is a cool toned palette with a lot of really great shimmer/metallic shades. I’ve been using this a ton and have really loved all the looks I’ve created. Very versatile if you are a fan of cooler colors and pretty great formula!
Tarte – Color Splash Lipstick in Salt Lyfe – $21
I got this mini lipstick in one of my subscription boxes and it has been my go-to color for so many makeup looks over the past month+. It is a light, cool toned, mauve-gray which is the type of neutral shade I prefer on my skin tone. It is very comfortable and long lasting for a matte lipstick and I think I’ll have to buy the full size once this baby runs out!
Drunk Elephant – Virgin Marula Luxury Face Oil – $40
I’ve gotten back into using this product throughout November. It is a really nice oil packed with tons of anti-aging ingredients that absorbs fully into the skin without feeling like a greasy oil. I find this is just another good way to fight against the cruel dry weather this time of year.
AOA – Velour Eyeshadows and Highlighters – $1
For one dollar, these are seriously incredible! I did a video reviewing them here – check it out. I was so shocked by these, I still really can’t believe it. Normally I don’t go for super cheap makeup, but these are truly stunning for the price. They aren’t the most long-lasting shadows, so I don’t know that I’d wear them for a full-day makeup look, but to just add some sparkle before heading out for dinner and drinks, they are perfect!
Becca x Chrissy Teigen – Lip Icing Glow Gloss Holiday Kit – $29
This limited edition Holiday Kit includes 4 lip glosses and I’m loving them! The ones in the photo are Cinnamon Bun and Sugar Plum and they are the two I’ve used the most out of the set. They smell so yummy and the formula wears so nicely on the lips. Really great subtle, neutral glosses – I’d pick this set up before it is gone!
Morphe – Metallic Heat & Glitter Fever Liquid Eyeshadow Sets – $12/set of 3
If you are a fan of the Stila Glitter/Shimmer and Glo Liquid Eyeshadows, you are going to love these! There is a set of 3 metallic shades (Ignite and Flare are the ones pictured above) and a set of 3 glitter shades each for only $12! That is an amazing price for these super pigmented and glittery eyeshadow products. I love them because there is no fall out and they are super intense – great for holiday looks! I’m sure I’ll continue using them through December as well!
~Takeaway~ Well, those are all of the products I’ve been reaching for over and over again throughout October and November! Some really fun new finds as well as some revisits of past loves. Let me know down in the comments if you have tried any of these gems and what your favorite products have been recently. I love sharing the things I love with you, so hopefully you will find something that maybe you can add to your Christmas wish list from here. Until next month – Cheers!
